About me

Hi — I’m Daven.

I’m a remote worker and traveler who works online while moving between different environments.

Along the way I learned something simple but important about digital nomad gear: most of what you see online comes from marketing, not real-world use.

Working remotely from cafés, apartments, coworking spaces, and temporary setups taught me what actually matters when your ability to work depends on the tools you carry with you.

Some gear is nice to have. Some gear makes travel easier. But one tool quietly determines whether remote work feels smooth or stressful — your laptop. Different locations, desks, and setups come and go, but your laptop is what carries your work with you.

My Journey Into Remote Work and Travel

My journey into remote work didn’t begin with a perfect setup or a clear plan.

Like many people starting out, I learned by adapting to different locations, internet connections, workspaces, and daily routines while still needing to stay productive. Those experiences quickly showed me that many gear recommendations look great online but don’t always hold up in real-world use. Over time, working across constantly changing environments taught me to prioritize three things above everything else:

Reliability. Simplicity. Efficiency.

You can improvise with desks, chairs, and accessories. But the laptop is the one tool you simply can’t compromise on. If your laptop works well, everything else becomes easier to adapt around.

I created this site to share what I’ve learned through real-world remote work.

Buying the right laptop from the start can save you a lot of frustration and expense later. My goal is to help you make that decision with clarity and confidence. From laptops and backpacks to everyday travel tools, everything I share here is based on one simple idea:

Your gear should support your workflow — not complicate it.

Remote work becomes much easier when the tools you rely on are dependable and simple to use.

That’s the philosophy behind everything on this site.

Thanks for stopping by.

— Daven
